Taxonomía
Tillandsia stricta fue descrita por Sol. ex Ker Gawl. y publicado en Botanical Magazine 37: t. 1529. 1813.[5]
- Etimología
Tillandsia: nombre genérico que fue nombrado por Carlos Linneo en 1738 en honor al médico y botánico finlandés Dr. Elias Tillandz (originalmente Tillander) (1640-1693).
stricta: epíteto latíno que significa "vertical, erecta"[6]
