Mario Diament
Mario Diament (17 de abril de 1942, Buenos Aires, Argentina) is a playwright, journalist, narrator, essayist and Argentinian screenwriter.
He has lived in New York, Israel and in Miami, Florida.
Career
His journalistic career began at the newspaper La Opinión, where he served as editor-in-chief and covered the Yom Kippur War..
He was the director of the newspaper El Cronista, the magazine Expreso, and worked for newspapers such as Clarín and El Nuevo Herald in Miami, among others.
He was a permanent columnist for La Nación of Buenos Aires, residing in Miami, where he was a professor and director of the School of Journalism and Media Communication at FIU (Florida International University).
He received the Konex Award - Diploma of Merit in Literature in 2014
Books
He published a novel in 2006: Martín Eidán.
As a playwright, he wrote El libro de Ruth, Tango perdido, Crónica de un secuestro, Esquirlas, Cita a ciegas, Equinoccio, and Un informe sobre la banalidad del amor.
In 1976, he co-authored the screenplay of the film "¿Qué es el otoño?" directed by David José Kohon, starring Alfredo Alcón.
In 2014, his play Cita a ciegas (Blind date) was the basis of the Argentine-Spanish co-production "Inevitable," directed by Jorge Algora and the Romanina production "Puzzle", directed by Andrei Zinca.
